The West Limerick Independent Living Employee Handbook has been produced for employees information and guidance as part of West Limerick Independent Living’s continuing efforts to improve safety behaviour and culture within the company and to eliminate accidents and control hazardous situations and practices. Service User and Personal Assistant relationship is a very complex one. In most cases it is a one-to-one relationship, which on occasions, can become intense and personal. You need to consider the vulnerability of both parties in order to guard against any upsets that may occur and to establish professional boundaries. If both parties understand exactly what their responsibilities are then problems are less likely to materialise. Service User and Personal Assistant Handbook The West Limerick Independent Living Safety Statement, in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 1989, outlines the policy of West Limerick Independent Living for ensuring so far as is reasonably practicable, the Health, Safety and Welfare of employees, clients, the public, contractors and visitors. West Limerick Independent Living recognises that all its Service Users have a number of rights that need to be protected, such as bodily integrity, non-discrimination, protection of the person, personal liberty and privacy we will endeavour to take all reasonable steps within its control to ensure that these rights are protected.
